Anyway we woke up this morning with some butterflies in our belly wishing that the rest of CA hadn't been so cold so we could have worked on being less pale. We headed to our continental breakfast and breaking news: this place has bananas!! So instead of the usual- we had toasted bagels with peanut butter and banana on them. We then started getting ready and in a bit headed to Trader Joe's where we got lunch- loaf of bread, havarti cheese, and turkey. YUM! Of course we doddled around for way to long and at 12pm, Matt texted and asked us to meet him at 12:30. CRAP. We rushed around lathering on sunscreen, deciding what to wear, and doing makeup. We ended up being 20 minutes late which turned out not to be a problem since we had just gone to Matt's friends' house and waited for about 20 more minutes until all their friends were there for us to leave.
We headed to the mansion which was about 15 minutes away and drove through all the swanky, rich neighborhoods. Matt pointed out how closed off everything is and it was true-it was not a neighborhood where they would be holding a block party. Every house had big iron gates and bushes all around them. We then got to the big security gate into the neighborhood where our host (Michael Scott--not from The Office) lived. Soon we arrived and were walking through the big gardens around to the back of the house where the party was.
WOW. This place was incredible! Matt gave us a tour of the tennis courts, swimming pool, volleyball court, the grotto (little cave with a hot tub and sofas and such), aviary with tons of birds, trampoline, bowling alley/workout room, and pool house (where the makeup was being done on the models). Did we mention-WOW!! Of course I was enamored with this adorable little white dog named Icy, but just casually in the backyard was a couple dogs, big parrot, big cockateal looking bird, little birds..oh and this one model brought her very fluffy little poodle..which was dyed pink!
We spent the afternoon sitting by the pool, talking to some of the other non-model girls there (2 of them went to University of Delaware- small world!), drinking, and eating the huge spread of food- not finger foods as we were expecting but a big meal with meat and string beans, potatoes, casseroles, salads, cakes, and lots more. Matt and his friends played volleyball for a lot of the party so we didn't see him too much. Oh and the models?? Not exactly high fashion runway ready but most were gorgeous and it was quite entertaining to watch them all over the property getting pictures taken. Our only problem through the day?? We missed the memo about wearing the highest heels possible. Every girl at the party had on at least 3 inch heels while Jen and I were in our flip flops--damn!! Even still, we had a great time!
Left the party, drove back to our place to get a change of clothes, and then headed to Matt's place. We met his cute dog Hammer and then went to get Subway for dinner. Finally we got our Subway! After eating, exhaustion set in and rather then going out again (Matt was headed to a local bar) we decided we better head back and get some sleep.
Finally we have found the sunshine and warmth! Pack away those jeans and get out the tank tops!
Optimism Column:
-It figures we bought and brought our tall LA heals aaaaand then didn't have them when we needed them- I don't know that we could have stood in them all day anyway.
-Who knew one would get so excited seeing bananas added to the breakfast choices?
-It is never ok to dye a dog pink

| When the owner began to play volleyball, his personal butler or something stood by the side and would always have a clean ball to throw to him when one went out of bounds |
